RED BARON CUSTOM GRETSCH

Built in the Fender Custom shop by Master Builder Chris Fleming, this is a hand-built, custom-made 6120 with a story to tell. It is the third custom Gretsch that has been hand-painted by artist Sara Ray, who previously painted a White Falcon with a Johnny Cash "Outlaw" theme, and a"Victory" guitar with a World War II theme, which was bought by Fred Gretsch. This instrument came next, bearing the World War I Red Baron theme. Sara Ray spent many hours in the Imperial War Museum in London, sketching and photographing Red Baron artifacts in preparation for this masterpiece. Months later, this guitar and matching amp were produced, and unveiled at the 2005 Summer NAMM show in Indianapolis, where it caught the eye of our Warpdrive team.   Not a detail was neglected - vintage Gretsch hardware adorns the front, and the control knobs are eagle buttons from a uniform in Sara Ray's personal WWI collection. The amp is actually a vintage Fender all-tube amp that has been painted to match the guitar and look like a relic, and it now bears a Gretsch logo.
